we don’t collect anything. veadotube programs save their settings and autosaved files in your own computer. we have no idea what you’re using the program for, and that’s a good thing.
veadotube programs can host a HTTP server. these servers can be used for WebSocket/GET requests to exchange information on the current session, including avatar state, thumbnails, as well as control it. it is off by default, and then turned on, served through localhost
by default.
veadotube programs store current session information on the user directory inside the .veadotube
folder, and that includes the program version, which instances of the program are open, the address for the currently open HTTP server if any, the file that’s currently open for editing, autosaved files, as well as the most recent logs.
that’s all done entirely locally, but it means that other programs in your computer can find basic information on currently open instances of veadotube, even if the HTTP server is disabled. this is so that they can integrate with veadotube and request access to the HTTP server automatically without needing manual input of the server address, and also so that veadotube can look for other instances of itself.
if you use plugins or mods with veadotube, you’re subject to their behaviour. be responsible when downloading and installing them.
we use itch.io to host downloads for the programs. when using their services, you’re subject to itch.io’s own privacy policy.
the official Stream Deck plugin connects to a veadotube program through session information found in the .veadotube
folder and the HTTP server hosted by it.
